      Valve Warnings

It is illegal, and against every building and safety code in North America, to install the automatic water shut off valve on the Water Controller in any manner such that:

• by closing the automatic water shut off valve on the Water Controller, a fire sprinkler system would be unable to obtain water and to work correctly.
• by closing the automatic water shut off valve on the Water Controller, a fire sprinkler system would be unable to function at its fully designed capability.
• by closing the automatic water shut off valve on the Water Controller, any life safety device is rendered ineffective or its operation is minimized, or compromised in any way.

Do not insert anything inside the Water Controller valve while it is not connected to a water supply. Serious injury and or valve damage may occur.




      Enclosure Warnings

• The enclosure that houses the motor on top of the automatic water shut off valve has a NEMA 4 rating. This means that it is water resistant and splash proof. As such, although the enclosure can withstand moderate weather outside of a residence, Water Controllers of Florida recommends that the valve be installed indoors.
• The Flow sensor has a similar rating, and Water Controllers of Florida also recommends that the flow sensor be installed indoors.
• Do not install the Control Panel outdoors. It is not NEMA 4 rated and must be installed indoors.
• Do not install the wireless transmitters outdoors. They are not NEMA 4 rated and they must be installed indoors.

Do's

• A licensed plumber must install the valve and flow sensor.
• Install the Water Controllers automatic water shut off valve of the upstream of an irrigation supply line, or any other water supply line that could be adversely affected by a loss of its water supply.
• When sweating the copper, be sure that the plastic seals in the valve, and the plastic unions for the flow sensor are protected from the heat caused during soldering.
• If the house is grounded for lighting strikes via the plumbing system, add grounding jumper around the Water Controller flow sensor. The Flow Sensor is non conductive and will break the grounding connection.
• Install the flow sensor between the water main valve , and the Water Controller automatic water shut off valve.
• Use a pressure regulator if possible.
• The flow sensor comes with unions, and an installation kit. We recommend that you also use unions when installing the valve.
